| Chad's Biography
Chad Allen Brannon was born on August 31, 1979 in Tomball (Harris County) Texas to Glenn Allen Brannon and Marla Hager Brannon (now Bridges). Tomball is a semi-rural community about 20 miles northwest of Houston (did you know that Houston is the country's fourth largest city?). Chad's parents divorced when he was 5 years old. His parents are both remarried and Chad has four half-siblings - one half brother and three half sisters. In high school Chad was involved with football, baseball and karate before he discovered acting - his response to the now-famous dare to audition for a school play that was made by a female friend. As a senior in high school, Chad's break-out performance was as John Proctor in "The Crucible" for which he received stellar reviews. Chad graduated from Tomball High School in 1997 and went on to attend Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas where he majored in Theater. While in college he was represented by the Pastorini-Bosby Talent Agency in Houston, and he worked in theater both in college and around the Houston area. After 2 years in college, and during the summer of 1999, Chad made the decision to test the Hollywood waters. The rest, as they say, is history. During his first weeks in Hollywood Chad received callback after callback as a result of his impressive auditions. He landed roles on episodes of primetime comedy and drama before appearing on daytime - first, briefly on "Days of Our Lives," and then in his current role as Zander Smith on "General Hospital." Chad returned to his theater roots during his recent run in "Cyrano de Bergerac" in Los Angeles. He auditions regularly for TV, film and theater. In his spare time Chad enjoys scuba, skydiving, rock climbing and cycling at the beach. He misses his St. Bernard named "Georgia Belle" who is back in Texas, but currently is master to his robotic pup that was a gift from a friend. |

Someone who knew Chad in Houston recently shared the following recollections of Chad: " . . . really kind, down to earth guy, I must say. There aren't many like him!" "Our first really big indication that he was destined for a career as an actor was a particularly strong performance as John Proctor in "The Crucible" during his senior year. That performance was absolutely incredible, something I would have expected to pay top dollar to see - way above and beyond what you could ever hope to find in the finest of high school productions."
